Obsidian Life Logging System Practical Operation

Recently, I revisited diygod's blog and discovered this system from six months ago. Coincidentally, I have also been using toggl track and a series of other peculiar things recently.

Here is a perspective from an Obsidian beginner:

Demo and Preparations#

Plugins#

The following plugins are required for this tutorial:

  • toggl track integration

To install, after installing Obsidian and setting up the vault, click on the small gear icon in the bottom left corner and go to "community plugins" -> "browse".

Search for the plugin name mentioned earlier and install it!

Toggl Track - Time#

This is easily solved. To find the Toggl Track API key, go to Toggl Track's "profile settings" and scroll down to find "API key". Copy it and reopen Obsidian's settings.

Enter the API token, select the Toggl Workspace, and click "connect" to test it:

I entered the following markdown syntax and successfully displayed the first statistic:

SUMMARY FROM 2023-01-01 TO 2023-01-31
SORT DESC

Currently, the projects are quite messy. This is because I categorized them based on the courses within the semester, which is simple and does not include any life factors. In order to help me classify and tag them, I did some research on YouTube:

In the end, they were divided into the following categories:

  • Life (Sorting, Laundry, Cooking, Eating, WC)
  • Sleep
  • Entertainment (Games, Music, Drama, Anime)
  • Social (Media, Chatting, Video Channels)
  • Code (Open-Source, Self-learning)
  • Try new things (Painting)
  • Language (Japanese, English, and more)
  • Work (Cetus, Other billable projects)
  • Blog
  • Exercise (Sports, Jogging)
  • Reading (Technical books, Novels)
  • University (Courses, Group Work)
  • Waste
